Why videoconferencing?

Better Collective is a growing company that needed an easy way for employees and external stakeholders to stay connected. With more than 200 employees spread across five global offices, real-time communication is essential. Teams cannot always meet in person, and videoconferencing enables face-to-face conversations any time so no one is left out and projects can keep progressing.

In addition, the company looked to videoconferencing to build strong relationships and enhance the corporate culture. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Better Collective recently acquired another company based in Vienna and wanted to create a unified, inclusive culture across offices. Its leaders believed employees should feel connected, even if they were not physically in the same office.

The company also wanted an easy way to talk to investors, bankers, and other stakeholders outside their organization located in different countries. Therefore, they needed a solution that would work for both internal and external communication.

Recently, Better Collective reached an enormous milestone and celebrated its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq Stockholm. To celebrate, the company’s founders traveled to Stockholm to ring the opening bell and pop the champagne. They wanted to bring the entire company in on the event, though, to celebrate together and build team camaraderie, even if they couldn’t all be there in person. To build this company culture, the team used video to bring everyone together and share in the experience. With a simple iPhone, they filmed the entire event for employees, stakeholders, and others located in various offices around the world.

Why Videxio?

Better Collective wanted a solution that would work with its other collaboration technologies for day-to-day communications and one that was easy to use. The company also uses Microsoft Exchange and G Suite, and so interoperability with both platforms was a big selling point.

The company also needed a solution was simple and easy for employees to use.

“Now, our employees can join meetings from their desktop, web browser, mobile phone, or the conference room. Videxio calls are easy to join, regardless of how you access the service or where you are,” said Martin Andersen, IT Manager.

The company selected Videxio in combination with Polycom after reviewing a couple of options. Better Collective has equipped its main office in Copenhagen with several Polycom Group 310 devices registered to Videxio’s cloud, and teams now have ability to join meetings hosted on other services like Skype for Business straight from the conference room. The combination of Videxio and Polycom has delivered a great meeting experience that was simple and intuitive, with high-quality video and audio, all without breaking the bank.

Video is part of every day communications at Better Collective, and so using Videxio’s My Meeting Video mobile app to broadcast the Nasdaq event to a broader audience seemed like a natural fit. There was no setup required, and it was easy for others to watch what was taking place in real time. Without the mobile app, this experience would not have been possible.

“With our mixed videoconferencing environment, we needed a simple way to tie it all together. Videxio serves as that bridge."

Results

The reception among employees has been wonderful. Users note that the service is easy to access, and higher-quality than their previous videoconferencing service. That’s because Videxio calls run on a dedicated global network built just for video. Media traffic doesn’t compete with other traffic and bandwidth is never capped, so the video and audio feeds are in sync and reliable.

Employees around the world now feel more connected than ever before, and the scheduled video meetings have built a stronger sense of inclusion and camaraderie among offices.

A big part of the success in driving user adoption has been the IT team’s efforts to train and educate employees on the service. The team sends emails, posts information in conference rooms, and helps ensure that users are self-sufficient on the service. Now that phase one of the Better Collective deployment is completed, the team looks forward to expanding the service to other offices around the world.

“I would recommend Videxio to anyone looking for an easy-to-use videoconferencing service that integrates with other solutions like Polycom, Microsoft, and Google. In fact, I’ve already recommended Videxio to my former boss and told him he needs to start using it!”
